Early Years Settings
My early years music sessions are designed to be playful, engaging and full of opportunities for children to learn, explore and express themselves through music.
Sessions combine singing, movement, instruments, props, sensory elements and interactive musical games to create exciting experiences that fully immerse children in the session whilst supporting key areas of development within the EYFS framework. Activities are carefully designed to support communication and language, confidence, physical development, creativity, social skills, listening and attention, self-expression and early musical understanding.
As a qualified teacher with experience teaching within EYFS, KS1 and KS2, I understand how young children learn best and how to adapt sessions to suit different ages, abilities and needs whilst ensuring every child feels included and successful.
Whilst one-off visits are always lots of fun, regular sessions are especially beneficial within early years settings. Over time, the relationships children build with me have a huge impact on the way they engage within the sessions. Children who may initially feel shy or hesitant often grow dramatically in confidence, becoming more willing to sing, communicate, join in and express themselves through music as their familiarity and trust develops.
Sessions are designed to be fun, welcoming and memorable, creating magical musical experiences that children continue talking about long after the visit has ended. Settings are also welcome to request a particular theme or learning focus if desired. More information about bespoke session pricing can be found on the Pricing page.
School Workshops
School workshops can be booked as a morning, afternoon or full-day experience and are designed to be engaging, educational and highly interactive.
Workshops can either be tailored specifically around your current topic or learning focus, or schools can choose from a wide range of exciting Once Upon a Tune themes already available. Whether you are looking for something linked to history, geography, storytelling, seasons, celebrations, world music or wellbeing, workshops are carefully planned to support learning through music in a creative and memorable way.
Sessions may include live piano music, singing, rhythm work, musical games, movement, songwriting, storytelling, composition activities and hands-on music making depending on the age group and workshop focus. Every workshop is adapted to suit the needs, ages and abilities of the children taking part.
I also offer one-off music parties and celebration sessions for both schools and early years settings, which are a fantastic way to celebrate the end of term, Christmas, World Book Day or any other special occasion.
“We had an amazing morning having Hannah visit our setting with Once Upon a Tune. To engage all the children from ages 10 months to 4 years is a real talent and it was wonderful watching all the children clap, wriggle and request songs too. She has such a fantastic talent and her piano playing is beautiful. The adults enjoyed it as much as the children. We can't wait to have Hannah and Once Upon a Tune back".
