Frequently Asked Questions

What is Once Upon a Tune?

Once Upon a Tune offers live classical piano and interactive music sessions for care homes, adult day centres, nurseries, and parent–child groups. Each session is designed to be inclusive, uplifting, and engaging — encouraging participation and supporting wellbeing through music.

Who leads the sessions?

All sessions are led by me, Hannah Cressey — a classically trained pianist, qualified early years teacher, and parent to two young children. I have a first-class music degree with honours and extensive experience working with both children and adults in creative, educational, and care settings.

What happens in a typical session?

Sessions include live classical piano, singalongs, percussion instruments, scarves, ribbons, and other sensory props. For early years and parent–child classes, I also use puppets, storytelling, and themed activities to capture imaginations.

Do you bring all the equipment?

Yes — I bring everything needed for the session, including instruments, props, and a portable stage piano and PA system if the venue requires it.

How long is each session?

Care home and adult day centre sessions are usually 60 minutes, nursery sessions 45 minutes, and parent–child classes 45–60 minutes depending on the format.

Do you have insurance and a DBS check?

Yes — I hold public liability insurance and an enhanced DBS certificate covering work with both children and adults.

“We had an amazing morning having Hannah visit our setting with Once Upon a Tune. To engage all the children from ages 10 months to 4 years is a real talent and it was wonderful watching all the children clap, wriggle and request songs too. She has such a fantastic talent and her piano playing is beautiful. The adults enjoyed it as much as the children. We can't wait to have Hannah and Once Upon a Tune back".
